Mindriot Logo (Part 2)

After I had scanned the first version of the logo, I realised how many things had to be adjusted.
The first change was the spiral, which I added digitally. I then edited a few lines around the eyes and the nose and set the triangle straight. The final adjustment was the sound wave, that previously looked shitty to say the least...

Once the adjustments were done, I added the font and some colour. Despite all the digital changes I always like the logo a lot...

So now, here are the links to the band. Unfortunately we disbanded in 2011, but you can still listen to some cool recordings and watch us perform live! Thanks, have fun!

Mindriot Logo (Part 1)

In early 2010 I started jamming with two friends of mine who were, along with me, into Grunge and Alternative Metal. I remember how hard it was to find a good sounding name for our band. One night we were just slacking in a room and spitting out one dumb name after the other, until I quoted the line "I've been caught in a mind riot..." from the s/t Soundgarden song. The name stuck and one day later I started drawing the logo...

First Sketch

The idea behind this logo was to show a numb person being hypnotised by the sound waves that entered and left through the ears. There are a few parts that I never liked and had to removed later on the PC. For instance the hand-drawn spiral, or the font above the head...

Junk X Logo

This artwork, which would later become the logo for "Junk X Films", was originally conceive as a band logo or t-shirt design for a future band of mine. I really liked the way this logo turned out, and I always felt that it had a visual connection to the socially and emotionally disorientated youth of Generation X and the consume driven society of the early 90's. (Total Junk!)

...hand-drawn X

I never used the name or the logo for any band or project up until 2011, when a friend and I decided to start a film production channel on Youtube...
